Before Picture
– Whats know as a shark bite (basically slides over or get pushed over the pipe and crimps itself on) with 1/2″ inch female inner thread fitting. This particular one serviced a toilet fixture and was installed incorrectly by a General Contractor / Handyman which ended up leaking water slowly behind the wall. Slowly overtime turned in to more & more water leaking eventually ended up rotting out part of the sub-flooring in the restroom so new floor had to be installed.
After Picture
– Installed & pressure tested a new piece of pipe which is all soldered in to place, with a 1/2″ inch female inner thread fitting. These fittings get heated into place much like a weld on to metal. Much more durable and will last a long time. Also because the fitting, pipe and screws are all as close up against to the inside of the stud wall this means for a more secured installment.
